About us
In a world where community spaces are increasingly rare yet more important than ever, we saw an opportunity to make a difference right here in Davis. We, Deema Tamimi and Do Tromp, envisioned Gather Davis as a transformative project to revitalize the underutilized space at 303 3rd Street. Our goal is to create a dynamic hub that serves multiple facets of our community—be it through facilitating community events, pioneering local food programming, or providing a coworking space for startups and entrepreneurs.

Meet Deema Tamimi, a force in both the tech industry and the local Davis community. With a rich background in product management, digital strategy, and growth marketing, Deema has made her mark at tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Flipboard, Unity, and Figma. But her passion doesn't stop at technology; she's deeply committed to community building and sustainable food systems.
As the founder of Land & Ladle, a nonprofit focused on sustainable food education, Deema has been instrumental in launching community-centric projects like Davis Eats, Davis Village Feast, and the Streatery—a street food event in partnership with the Davis Food Co-op. Her work extends to serving on the Downtown Plan Advisory Committee (DPAC), highlighting her investment in the future of Davis.
Deema's unique blend of tech-savvy expertise and community-driven initiatives makes her a key player in our proposal for Gather Davis. Her vision for food programming aims to promote food sustainability, reduce waste, and foster community engagement. With Deema on board, we're not just building a space; we're nurturing a community.
